Marcelo Roca, Executive Coordinator of Xcala, has been appointed as Senator at the Grand Assembly of the World Business Angels Investment Forum. Senator Roca will represent Argentine in the Global Startup Committee of the Grand Assembly.

Marcelo Roca is the executive coordinator of Xcala, an initiative developed together by IEEM Business School and BID Lab, with the goal of accelerating the development of angel investment groups in Latin America and the Caribbean. As well, he serves as professor of Early Stage Financing at University of Montevideo, and Entrepreneurship at IEEM Business School (Montevideo, Uruguay) and at UADE Business School (Buenos Aires, Argentine). Prior to this, he was Partner at Sullivan Consulting, a management-consulting firm based in Puerto Rico specialized in valuation and M&A, and was cofounder of Transops, a company providing strategic sourcing services and e-procurement. With this start-up, he managed to raise capital for business development and experienced the growth of the company from inception to further expansion through the Latin-American region. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from IAE Business School, Magna Cum Laude and a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from ITBA. In addition, he has attended several specialized programs like Price-Babson SEE and AMP (Advanced Management Program) at IEEM Business School to reinforce his business skills.
